Temples

What do temples have to do with families?

A family begins as marriage vows are made.

In a church or courthouse, a marriage ceremony is performed by a minister or judge who has legal authority given to them from man. Your vows may include words like "Until Death do you Part."

In a temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints, a marriage ceremony is performed by someone holding the priesthood who has authority given to him from God. Your vows include the words "For Time and all Eternity."
