Why do Latter-day Saints do family history?

"Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints use family history records to perform sacred temple ordinances, such as eternal marriages and sealings of children to parents, for their kindred dead if these deceased family members were unable to perform the earthly rites themselves. This gives deceased ancestors the opportunity to accept these ordinances in the afterlife."  

How can I strengthen my marriage?

"You can strengthen your marriage and keep your family safe by following the counsel given in the proclamation on the family. You can find solutions to problems by studying the teachings of the Savior and his servants and by praying diligently for the Lord’s guidance. Through prayer, you can receive strength to keep your covenants and to work in unity with your spouse. You can repent of bad habits and forgive. You can learn problem solving and communication skills to resolve disagreements and avoid potential conflicts." 

How can I strengthen my family?

"The greatest of these principles is love (see matthew 22:36–40). The single most important thing you can do for your children is to love them in a Christlike manner. When your children feel and know of your love, they are more likely to listen to your teachings, follow your example, and accept discipline from you. Love should motivate and guide all your involvement with them. Listening without love will be perceived as disinterest. Discipline without love will be looked upon as unrighteous dominion. Teaching without love may fall on deaf ears. Family life without love will starve the spirits of children and lead to unhappiness and relationship problems."
